GMT 24:7 was born out of several years personal experience here in the Algarve, where service levels are an afterthought, at best.

Created by way of a family partnership, GMT 24:7 constitutes 3 British expats (father & 2 sons) who really know and understand the requirements of the modern day consumer, and who are prepared to go the extra mile to deliver excellent levels of customer service.

Meet The Team

Tony Hawkins

With too many years experience to mention, Tony is a qualified electrician, plumber and general builder. Tony ran a successful building company in the South West of England for 30+ years, before emigrating to the Algarve in 2000, with his wife, to be closer to their eldest son (Scott) and Portuguese daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

Since arriving in Portugal, Tony has been working with his eldest son carrying out ad-hoc building projects and coming to terms with operating a business in Portugal.

Scott Hawkins

Scott has worked for much of his life in partnership with father Tony, and has been a qualified plumber and general builder since leaving technical college in England. Scott met his Portuguese wife while on holiday one year in the Algarve and has never looked back, emigrating there in 1995.

Fluent in Portuguese from day 1, Scott set about putting together his very own construction business and quickly went from strength to strength, creating his own team and network of locals, before getting a knock at the door in 2000 to be joined in the Algarve by both mum & dad.

Brett Hawkins

Brett is the non-builder in the team, having graduated from University with a Bachelors in Accountancy & Finance, he went on to work in London for 6 years to learn his profession, Management Accounting.

For Brett six years was enough in the Capital city, and with many holidays visiting family in the sunny Algarve it was time to branch out, emigrating there in 2002.

Taking a while to settle Brett eventually took up a position as Group Financial Controller for a leading property developer in the Algarve, where he spent 7 years, before making the irresistible move to join both father & brother in the family business.
